This is our last chance
Give me your hands
'Cause our world is spinning at the speed of light
The night is fading, heart is racing
Now, just come and love me like we're gonna die

In all of her years living in Myrtle Beach, Mitchie never had to get up so early. Her high school was only twenty minutes from her house, but now that she was in New York City, it was a whole new world. After graduating from high school Mitchie, along with her twin brother and their older brother, Geoff, made the move to "The Big Apple". A summer of exploring the city barely prepared her for going from their new home to her new school. She had somewhat figured out the way from home to the Columbia campus, but she wouldn't have her true test until the first day of class.

It was 4:30 AM on September 6, 2011 when Mitchie's alarm went off. She wanted to be in and out of the bathroom before her brothers even woke up. From many years of experience, she never wanted to be in the middle of that again. By the time they started getting out of bed, she was already showered, legs shaved, make-up and hair done, and making everyone's breakfast. She was no culinary expert, but she knew how to keep everyone fed.

"About damn time, asshole," she teased her twin as he sat at the table and retorted by just flipping her the bird. She laughed, shaking her head as she served him his breakfast. They always gave one another a hard time, and the morning of their first day of college was no exception. She figured that it was the best time to just be themselves. She wanted to feel as comfortable as possible when trying something new.

It was 6:45 when they were all ready to head out the door. Mitchie found herself yelling out an unnecessary checklist to her brothers before they headed out the door. They were always on top of everything, but Mitchie still felt the need to make sure. Typically, if anyone forgot something out of the three of them, it would be her. Once they reassured her, she walked out the door and checked the directions for which trains to take before putting her ear buds in and turning her music on and heading toward the tunnel for her first train.
